Learn Felt Making Online
With the current travel restrictions, it not always being practical to travel a long distance for a half-day course. So I have introduced online feltmaking workshops to allow you to enjoy learning feltmaking in the safety of your own home.
How the workshops are run
- You select the project you like and pay via the link below.
- All the materials and equipment you'll need are sent to you through the post at least 5 days before the class. The kit has instructions in it.
- On the day of the workshop, you join a pre-arranged Zoom meeting with Q&As at the end. The teaching session will be between 60 and 90 minutes long.
The needles included in these kits are very sharp so be careful when handling them.

Needle Felting
Needle felting uses a specially made barbed needle to help the wool strands to lock together. This allows you to make a 3D object such as a small animal.
Wet Felting
Wet felting relies on the agitation of wet wool fibres to create a more solid mass from the individual fibres. If ever you've washed a woolly jumper on the wrong wash cycle you'll have an idea of the result! Except that instead of ruining something useful, we use the same idea in a controlled way to create something new. In doing so we can combine several colours, and even some non-wool fibres to create something practical and beautiful.

What's included in the kit?
Each kit contains:
- sufficient wool in the correct colours to make your chosen animal
- foam mat
- two special needles (these are sharp!)
- printed instructions (including how to download Zoom to your computer)
What can I make?
The projects currently offered are beginners kits to make a needle felted animal.
More advanced kits are available in my Shop with a tutorial available.

What's included in the kit?
- Merino wool fibres
- Design and basic felting instructions
- a foam mat
- one barbed needle to embellish
- Simple printed instructions
- Soap flakes
- Not provided - bubble wrap or plastic surface
What can I make?
Create a unique felt picture using the felting technique and painting with wool, using the wet felting and needle felting techniques. I demonstrate how to make a wet felted picture with embellishments. Showing you how to blend your colours then how to add other fibres and entrapment them. Then on to the sometimes tricky felting process (fulling),
These courses are suitable for beginners and for those with some experience.
